Things to do

Within five minutes of leaving the house on foot you will be in the mountains. There are many wonderful walks in the area for either a gentle stroll or something a little more challenging.
The scenery is spectacular with views over to the sea.

Mount Canigou dominates the area with its beauty, particularly in the spring with its snow-capped peaks.

Above all this is the place to do nothing, just to sit and admire the beauty of the scenery, the peace and quiet and relax.

If you enjoy a glass of wine, you are in the right place. Côtes du Roussillon wines are excellent and there are many local caves for a tasting. Or you could sample the local aperitifs, Banyuls and Muscat.

There are two restaurants in the village, a post office, a shop with a bakery, a school and a library. There is a tennis court and boules pitch for those seeking a little sport.

The nearest towns are Amelie-les-Bains (25mins), Cérét (40mins) and Perpignan (1hour).

All have lively markets, restaurants and shops. The closest beaches are at Argelès, Canet and St. Cyprien (50mins).

Collioure and Port Vendres are both attractive small ports with regular interesting art exhibitions. The Spanish border is just a little over an hour’s driver with many places to visit such as Figueres with the Dali Museum, Rosas Bay and Girona with its charming mixture of ancient and modern.

If you wish to explore the area, car hire would be essential.
